The Mosquito Program is a player’s introduction to the great game of hockey. It is accomplished by creating a fun and challenging environment where the player learns and develops skills. The cost of the program is $310.00
All Players must be registered in a Learn-to-Skate program.
The program consists of 16 games and 8 practices. All players get uniform shirts, socks and an award at the end of the season. All games are played at NVO in Boxborough. Games are played on Sunday morning at 6:45, and Sunday afternoon at 1:45 and 3:00pm. All shifts are 2 minutes and a buzzer changes the lines. No score is kept and no face-offs during the shift. The puck is tossed down the ice when a goal is scored to keep all players moving throughout their shift.
Players are required to have shin pads, hockey gloves, elbow pads, hockey pants, helmet with a cage, and a hockey stick.
There are six teams in the programs and they are named after the original six NHL teams: Bruins, Canadians, Blackhawks, Rangers, Redwings, and MapleLeafs.
At the end of the season a tournament is held in Biddeford, Maine between all six teams and awards are given to all participants. This is an additional $90 to participate in the tournament.
